Sueños

This recent series grew out of my 'Indian' pictures, and was similarly inspired by the beautiful pastel colours of Nilima Sheikh's 'Shamiana' scrolls. It marked a return to oil paints, which I felt would better capture the subtlety of the colour palette. As the series evolved, however, it started to take on a more Latin American character, and this - along with the dreamlike, surreal quality of some of the images - led to the title 'Sueños' ('Dreams').
