Miniscapes (2024) - the complete series
Collage has been a growing interest of mine over the last few years. Each picture in this series is based on a photo of a coastal landscape I know personally. In contrast to earlier, more abstract collages, here I was intrigued by the idea of making each image as naturalistic as possible, while at the same time using only pre-existing scraps or offshoots from other pieces - which led to a kind of dream-like realism. I was also attracted by the challenge of compressing these large seascapes into miniature postcard format (each picture is just 6 x 4 or 4 x 6 inches).
